Call for Pilot Sites/Research Projects

The BC Health Research Connection Project is developing a new provincial platform that aims to increase participation in research by connecting patients and the public to research opportunities. This project will facilitate researchers’ ability to find, connect, and enrol patients and public volunteers for their research studies or clinical trials.

Call for Pilot Sites/Research Projects

We are looking for pilot sites or research projects involving multiple sites to assist with the development and testing of the provincial platform registry. The platform registry will include patients and public volunteers who have signed up to be notified of relevant research opportunities.

Who we are looking for:

  • 6-8 pilot sites with (1) a need to recruit patients/volunteers for research projects and patient-oriented research, and/or (2) who may be operating or have considered a "Permission to Contact" program

Pilot sites/projects will help refine platform and site-related procedures, and will require a team member (e.g. research coordinator) to:

  • Participate in a working group from ~ November 2017 until launch in 2018 (estimated commitment biweekly meetings for 3-4 months, then monthly thereafter).
  • Attend a half day planning workshop (~4 hours) in mid-November in Vancouver.
  • Assist with signing up patients into the registry ~ 2018 – and beyond.

If you are interested in being a pilot site – please complete the survey here.

We will be initially selecting 6-8 pilot sites and will look to expand sites after the piloting phase is complete.

For any questions regarding the pilot sites, please contact Stefanie Cheah, BC Health Research Connection Project Manager.
